Rhetorical Analysis Prompt



Rhetorical analysis is an important process in comprehending an author’s text and in understanding the moves an author makes in his/her writing. In practicing rhetorical analysis, one can also comprehend how to improve her/his own writing and grow as an intellectual.



Directions: Write an essay to analyze a text for the author’s philosophical assumptions, the structure, and the rhetorical strategies. Be sure to briefly summarize the text for context and to introduce the paper’s intent.
